Each year, groups of mid-level IT workers in government and industry get together to learn from one another. It’s called the Voyagers program; the goal is to foster better understanding and career development.

And the deadline to apply is today by 5 p.m. The American Council for Technology and the Industry Advisory Council — or ACT-IAC — sponsors the program.

The government chair of the program is Rory Schultz, the chief technology officer of the Food and Nutrition Service at the Agriculture Department. He joined the Federal Drive to discuss how the program works and how it has helped past participants excel in their careers.
