Sites boost transparency on government news, foreign projects

Gov 2.0 is boosting transparency on domestic government news as well as on projects abroad.

Two new websites are boosting the federal government’s transparency efforts.

A service through notifications.USA.gov allows users to choose the topics they want to be updated about and receive texts or e-mails, according to Vanity Fair.

Another website from USAID — soon to be launched — will highlight the aid given out to foreign countries, Mashable reports. Users will be able to find out which programs are funded and the results of those programs.

Raj Shah, administrator of USAID, said he hopes the information on the site will inspire people to help those struggling with poverty, hunger, illness and other obstacles.
