No big cuts in FAA reauthorization — but also no backpay

While the bill doesn't contain any of the contentious provisions that led to a partial shutdown, it also doesn't provide backpay for the 4,000 workers who were furloughed in early August.
Pete Kasperowicz, a staff writer for The Hill newspaper, joined the Federal Drive to discuss some of the provisions that the final bill will likely contain.
As it turns out, transportation spending will be one of the few budget items to be level-funded, he said, meaning it will not see significant cuts — which is in direct contrast to many agency budget appropriations to make it out of the House.
