State aims to cut power waste on all agency computers

The State Department's new mission is cutting emissions — one computer at a time. The department is working to save millions of dollars and cut 21,000 tons of carbon emissions by cutting power waste in its computers.
Gerry Caron is the branch chief of Enterprise Management Systems at the Information Resource Management Bureau at the State Department. He joined In Depth with Francis Rose to discuss how the agency will meet its goals.
State's goal involves many "moving parts," namely the fact that the department has components spread out across the globe, Caron previously told AOL Government.
Caron discussed the 100 percent goal will meet the Office of Management and Budget's sustainability mandates as well as how it aligns with State's own Green Diplomacy Initiative.
