It's not good news for historians. A new report shows 8-in-10 cabinet agencies are at significant risk of improperly destroying records. The National Archives and Records Administration found that of the almost 250 agencies polled, nearly 79 percent of agencies ran the risk of improperly destroying records. That risk was particularly high for e-mail management. The report says policies for managing records that are transferred or stored via e-mail are often either nonexistent or poorly communicated to employees. Laurence Brewer is the Director of the Life Cycle Management Division at NARA.
