Analysis: The unusual case of the Park Police firing

Attorney Debra Roth explains why Teresa Chamber\'s case is so unusual.

The case of Teresa Chambers has changed some aspects of federal whistleblower laws.

Chambers returns to her old job today as chief of the National Park Police. She was terminated by the Interior Department seven years ago after speaking to the media about budget shortfalls and an understaffed department. The Merit Systems Protection Board issued a decision earlier this month that said Chambers was wrongly dismissed.

Debra Roth, attorney with Shaw, Bransford & Roth, says the case is unusual – for at least a couple of reasons.
