Within the FBI's Washington Field Office there are a dozen agents and analysts working on what the FBI calls one of its highest priorities: enforcing the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act. It's a law that bars companies from bribing foreign government officials to get lucrative contracts or other favorable treatment. Just this year, the FBI's enforcement efforts have resulted in multimillion-dollar corporate settlements and coordinated arrests of individual corporate executives who were accused of bribery. Shawn Henry, Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI's Washington Field Division, tells Federal News Radio this is the only operation of its kind in the country focused on corrupt payments.
