Group cites DoJ FOIA policy as reason for anti-transparency 'award'

Sunshine Week — the celebration of government openness and transparency — has led to some dubious honors for certain agencies.
George Washington University's National Security Archive "awarded" the Justice Department the award for 2011 last month for its response to Freedom of Information Act requests and the FOIA policies and guidance that it sets for the rest of government.
Nate Jones, the FOIA Coordinator at George Washington University's National Security Archive, joined In Depth with Francis Rose to discuss the "honor" and government openness overall.
Jones also discussed the steps DoJ should take to increase transparency and avoid being a repeat recipient of the Rosemary Award.
