DHS CERT cybersecurity not secure, finds IG

  • The agency charged with protecting federal civilian networks is found with hundreds of its own security problems. Homeland Security's inspector general says the U.S. Computer Emergency Readiness Team failed to keep its systems up to date with software patches. Auditors found more than 200 high-risk security holes. Many of those problems were found on systems for e-mail and data access. US-CERT says it has since patched its systems.
