Over 50,000 workers and volunteers participated in the clean-up efforts during the Deep Water Horizons Oil spill. Now the National Institutes of Health is looking into the long-term health effects they may suffer. Findings from the 10-year study could impact health care policy. Dr. Dale Sandler is the Principal Investigator for the GuLF STUDY at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences. Dr. Sandler explained why NIEHS is conducting the study now.
