GAO: Agencies struggle with social media use

The Government Accountability Office says many of the 24 biggest agencies are still struggling with how to use social media effectively

The White House has pushed agencies to take advantage of social medial tools like Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. The President even broadcasts his weekly address over the White House’s YouTube channel. But the Government Accountability Office says many of the 24 biggest agencies are still struggling with how to use social media effectively, and how to control what they put out. Gregory Wilshusen is the Director of Information Security Issues at the GAO.
