Michael Dominguez –Acting Undersecretary for Personnel and Readiness was charged with cleaning up the mess after the military health scandal at Walter Reed hospital broke two years ago is about to leave office. What was his proudest moment? “Pinning a purple heart of a wounded airman that came back from Iraq over there at Walter Reed.” Why? He says, “because this is what it’s all about, because it’s symbolic of the quality of the young men and woman in this case who volunteered to serve her country.” The military health care system still has some challenges, but he believes they’ll be fixed.
