18 Female Members of a suicide bomber network in Iraq have surrendered to US forces. General Mark Hertling, commander of the US forces in northern Iraq, has said that 18 women decided to surrender after a cleric persuaded them that suicide attacks violate the Islamic doctrine. The women were said to be young and impressionable. Their surrender came just as other suicide bombers struck Monday near a Baghdad police academy and in Mosul against a joint U.S.-Iraqi patrol, together killing 31 people.
