The House Judiciary Committee passed an updated USA Freedom Act a few weeks ago. Many see the surveillance bill as a compromise that gives a little to each side, including limiting the use of Section 215 of the Patriot Act. That’s the provision that lets intelligence agencies collect telephone records. Sean Vitka is a federal policy manager at the Sunlight Foundation. He joined Tom Temin on the Federal Drive to explain what else is in the bill, and what it could all mean.
