Process underway to one day bring cyber weapons to battlefield

Will soldiers head off to battle someday with computer codes in their pockets?

Foreign Policy magazine reports that the Army and Marines are creating a process for front-line troops to request cyber weapons like they order artillery and air support.

Army officials said first they have to define what exactly is a cyber weapon or tactical fire in military-speak. It typically considers cyber on a larger, operational or strategic level.

But it wants even the smallest fighting unit to have cyber weapons if they need them. That means training is another major hurdle.
