Army suspends co-owner of propaganda firm

The Army has suspended a co-owner of the Pentagon's top propaganda firm in Afghanistan.

The Army has suspended a co-owner of the Pentagon’s top propaganda firm in Afghanistan. But the company itself is not suspended.

Federal Times reported that Camille Chidiac was placed on the excluded parties list. He’s a 49 percent owner of Leonie but is not active in the company’s operations.

Chidiac launched websites that defamed certain journalists. The reporters had written about troubles in Leonie Industries’ finances.

Lt. Col. Wayne Wallace, an Army debarment official, said the websites are the work of Chidiac, not the company. The Pentagon denounced the websites as a smear campaign. One member of Congress wants Leonie Industries also suspended.
