Army updates policy on flying unmanned aircraft in U.S.

The Army is updating its policy on flying unmanned drones in U.S. airspace, according to a new memo written by Army Secretary John McHugh.
The policy applies to the active Army, National Guard and Army Reserve, unless otherwise stated, according to the memo.
The Army uses the drones for warfighter training and unspecified "domestic operations" in civilian airspace.
The memo updates a five-year-old policy to meet federal aviation regulations and other laws.
