Report examines future trends in global defense spending

While defense spending by the United States and virtually all other countries with high per-capita income shot upward in the decade after the September 11th attacks, we're at the beginning of an era of decreased spending by all those countries — not just the U.S.

And meanwhile, spending by lower income countries is on the way up. Those findings come from the annual Global Defense Outlook, just published by the consulting firm Deloitte. Jack Midgely, a director at the firm and the lead author on the report, is Jared Serbu's guest for this week's edition of On DoD.
