Joint Chiefs chair expresses concern over TRICARE fee increase

The Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff tells service members, he understands their concern about proposed new TRICARE fees. GovExec reports, Gen. Martin Dempsey promises the department will keep reviewing its healthcare system.

For 2013, the Obama administration has proposed new co-pays and increases in the price of enrolling in TRICARE Prime. The changes could save nearly $18 billion over five years. Dempsey says the department had no choice but to start reining in runaway health care costs.
