The Afghan military is planning to spy on it\'s own soldiers to root out those behind a string of attacks on American and other Western troops.

The Afghan military is planning to spy on it’s own soldiers to root out those behind a string of attacks on American and other Western troops. The Wall Street Journal reports, agents from the National Directorate of Security — the country’s spy agency — will be deployed to monitor Afghan soldiers at every step, from recruitment and training to deployment and even home leave. They hope the plan will help weed out troublemakers and prevent more deadly attacks. Last year, the U.S. military warned the attacks were turning into a “growing systemic threat” to the mission.
