First Lady urges states to help military spouses find jobs

First Lady Michelle Obama has joined with military leaders in urging states to make it easier for military spouses to find jobs when they move. The First Lady wants states to let licenses for specific occupations transfer more easily. A report prepared jointly by the Defense and Treasury Departments gives state officials a roadmap for streamlining licensing procedures. The study found, more than one third of working military spouses have jobs that require state licenses or certifications. And, military spouses are far more likely to move across state lines than other workers. School teachers, child care workers and registered nurses make up the largest numbers of affect military spouses.
