Symantec links DoD hacks to China

A \"staging server\" hosted by one of the largest ISPs in the country is based in the Beijing area

Researchers at Symantec have found more evidence linking attacks on defense contractors to the Chinese, Computer World reports.

A “staging server” hosted by one of the largest ISPs in the country is based in the Beijing area.

The attacks infect the victim’s Windows PC with Sykipot by using PDF documents to exploit an Adobe reader bug.

Adobe completed a patch for the bug in Reader earlier this month.
