DoD: Troops will see reduced cost-of-living adjustments

The Pentagon reminding workers stationed overseas to leave out cost-of-living pay when calculating their household budgets.

Pentagon officials have indicated they know they’ll be working with tighter budgets. But that also means troops will have to as well.

Now, the brass is providing more advice for service members, who need to balance their own personal budgets. The Pentagon reminded workers stationed overseas to leave out cost-of-living pay when calculating their household budgets.

The COLA is paid to personnel stationed outside the U.S. to offset foreign costs. Defense.gov reports that this month many service members will see a reduced COLA.
