Cyber attack at Commerce did not stop work

The Commerce Department said a major cyber attack may have brought down one of its agencies' networks, but it did not stop work.
The January attack forced the Economic Development Administration to go offline. It had to build a new operating system from scratch.
Commerce told the Washington Post that the EDA has awarded more than $36 million in grants to distressed communities since the blackout.
But the agency is still trying to figure out how the computer virus could have done so much damage.
