Fans of the Apple iPhone can now take a big bite out of Cisco’s Unified Communications system.

Cisco has rolled out an interoperability solution between its UC system and Cisco WebEx Connect, Microsoft Office, and yes, even the iPhone.

The new Cisco Unified Contact Center Express application allows call center supervisors to receive real-time reports, notices and performance metrics on an iPhone or iPod touch. Cisco Mobile Supervisor allows users to stay on top of contact center operations while on the move to quickly analyze and respond to situation changes and issues.

As for Microsoft users, Cisco’s UC Integration allows customers to access simplified and highly secure call control features and other Cisco UC services.

“This simple desktop integration is expected to enhance lawyer productivity by enabling them to operate their Cisco phone from within the instant messaging and other desktop applications they already use,” said Phillip Rightler, chief information officer, Thompson Coburn LLP.
