May 31, 2011 — Host John Gilroy will be joined by three IT veterans to talk about how to reduce the costs of federal IT projects.

Today’s guests are Mark Forman, founder of Government Transaction Services, Grant Thorton Director Norm Lorentz, and Dick Burk, an independent enterprise architecture & planning professional.

All three have decades of experience designing large systems for the federal government.

They endorse a white paper called “Citizen-Enabling Open Government Executive Summary” (CEOG) that is available at the ACT/IAC site.

They will also discuss the report card that Vivek Kundra has recently given his 25 point plan.

From their combined experience, one must take a look at federal IT existing structure to see duplicated systems and unused systems.

If you combine the design tools that enterprise architecture provides, you can reduce cost for complex systems.
