GAO enhancing user experience on mobile devices

Now GAO is moving to the next step — improving the user experience on mobile devices. The agency is releasing an app for Apple's iOS devices, such as iPhones and iPads.
"Our goal is to make sure we're releasing our reports and testimonies in the ways people are now choosing to get their information," said Chuck Young, GAO's managing director of public affairs, in an interview with Federal News Radio's Jared Serbu.
Young said the number of mobile users accessing the site with Apple products is "mushrooming," but added the GAO will also create apps for Android and BlackBerry devices.
One improvement to the user experience has been moving from PDF files to what the agency calls an "e-report," which is HTML-based and much easier to read on both a mobile device or on a desktop computer, Young said.
GAO wants to move to the e-report format for all documents, Young said.
