A new Google privacy policy is raising questions for some federal employees. The Internet giant says it’ll change the document in March, making it easier to read — and a lot shorter. But some people worry this could mean new security and privacy problems for feds and agencies that use Google products.

“I think the trend is definitely in favor greater surveillance and greater data collection,” said David Jacobs, a consumer privacy fellow at the Electronic Privacy Information Center. “It also shows users that if you give information to a private company, there’s always a chance that the government may also want that information to help with law enforcement investigations.”

Jacobs spoke with The Federal Drive with Tom Temin Friday about what privacy concerns Google users might have and how they can protect their personal information.
