Procurement reform went front and center on Capitol Hill yesterday. The House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform talked about a proposed bill to revise how the government buys information technology. The bill would change things for industry, too. One of the companies testifying was Brocade Communications.

The Library of Congress says: let it manage your agency's media and book subscriptions and it will save you money. For the first time, it is opening up its 40-year-old Federal Library and Information Network to all agencies. Fedlink executive director Blane Dessy says this expansion will help the government cut costs, while making sure agencies still have the information they need.

As we told you earlier this morning, the House is postponing its vote on extending the federal pay freeze. But it's still going after somebody's salary -- the Senate's. Alex Bolton, senior staff writer at The Hill Newspapers, has the details.
