Expert hails security tweaks of upcoming Windows upgrade

Security researcher Chris Valasek previewed the new operating system and told Government Computer News that Microsoft has kicked its "exploit mitigation" technologies into high gear. That means the operating system will be able to block malicious actions even before it has identified the nature of the attack. Plus, the added security won't compromise third-party software. Valasek said that's no easy feat. Microsoft's Windows 8 is slated for an October release.
