Washington, D.C., has the highest risk of cybercrime in the country, according to a new report by Symantec’s Norton Internet Security and Sperling’s BestPlaces. Seattle, San Francisco, Atlanta and Boston round out the top five, with the District topping the list. It’s the second cyber risk study by the two companies. Washington scored highest in almost all cybercrime factors like malware infections and Web attacks. Not surprising for the nation’s political and military capital. The study also measured the per capita use of smart phones, applications, social networking and the number of unsecure Wi-Fi hotspots.
