Survey reveals increase in cyber attacks

If it feels like cyber mischief makers have been busier in recent months, that's because they have been. Arbor Networks surveyed 114 large organizations. It found that last year, 90 percent experienced one denial of service attack every month. A few experienced 50 attacks per month. SearchSecurity.com reports, vandalism and grievance-driven hactivism drove the attacks. Federal agencies reported several breaches by groups such as Lulz Sec and Anonymous. The attacks often go after Web applications and come from several vectors at once.
