China denies it hacked US satellites

China is denying reports that it hacked into two U.S. satellites, Government Computer News reports.

A Congressional report points the finger at the Chinese military for a hack attack that happened between 2007 and 2008. The tampering originated from a ground station in Norway but had all the telltale tactics of a Chinese attack, the report says.

However, a Chinese foreign minister says the report is untrue and claims the authors have ulterior motives. Bloomberg reports the hack could have interfered or manipulated the satellite's functions, but NASA says no functions were damaged.
