The Stuxnet worm doesn’t have a twin after all. Last month Symantec discovered a malware threat with such strong similarities to Stuxnet they called it the Son of Stuxnet, InfoSecurity Magazine reports.

But the trojan — renamed Duqu — appears to have a different purpose, namely gathering intelligence on industrial control systems.

Dell SecureWorks says the malware was not developed by the same team that coded Stuxnet.

Duqu is still a huge threat. It includes several malicious files that work as a team to search out and load encrypted dynamic link library files.
