The Health and Human Services Department is offering $5,000 in seed money for HHS employees who have start-up business ideas that will also help the agency. It’s called the HHS Ignite program: agency entrepreneurs get the seed money and a little bit of coaching to try to get their business ideas off the ground. If they’re successful, it’s a win-win for both the agency and its employees. Employees get three months to test out their ideas. The agency gives them access to a network of fellow innovators, and it offers start-up tools not available to the rest of the agency staff. Find out more about the program.
