Electronic voting machines continue to cause problems for Election Day

Voting machine glitches on Election Day have lead to questions about how trustworthy election results are, reports Government Technology.

Some glitches were caused by machines needing recalibration. Other machines are simply getting old.

In the next election, more jurisdictions will move to optical scanning where candidate selections are handwritten, so if the system fails, the votes can still be recounted.
