A new company is hoping to bring down Americans’ blood pressure – and health care costs. The Center for Connected Health will allow self-insured employers to help their employees manage their health. One of the company’s first projects is a wireless blood pressure cuff that allows patients to take their own blood pressure and upload readings to their doctor via a health portal. The device will also give coaching messages, like “good job” or “get more exercise.” Diabetes and weight management products will also be offered in the future.
