A New England Journal of Medicine article says electronic health records could boost the quality of health care for Americans. The author of the study says doctors can improve how they treat people if every patient had access to health care organizations that use EHRs to coordinate and monitor how they provide treatment. But, the article maintains the only way to achieve real reform in the United States healthcare system is to acknowledge three major problems: Coverage, cost and quality and attack those challenges simultaneously.
