November 7, 2014 — This week on “Fed Access”, host Derrick Dortch is joined by Maureen Casey, managing director of the Office of Military and Veteran’s Affairs, and Todd Bowers, vice president of Global Philanthropy at JP Morgan Chase and Company.

They will discuss the 100,000 Jobs Mission, an initiative started by JP Morgan Chase, and ten other companies to help veterans find jobs in the private sector after they leave military service.

The program began in 2011 with the 11 companies committed to hiring 100 thousand vets by the year 2020.

Since then, the coalition has grown to more than 170 companies representing nearly every industry in the American economy.

More than 161 thousand veterans have been hired, so far, by the companies participating in the initiative.

Because of that success, the companies have changed their original goal, and now plan to hire more than 200 thousand vets by 2020.

On today’s show, Casey and Bowers give an overview of the 100,000 Jobs Mission, including the training programs available for vets, business recruiters and hiring managers.

They also discuss the upcoming Concert for Valor being held on Veteran’s Day in Washington D.C.
