May 9, 2014 — This week on “Fed Access”, Sandy Smith, transition services manager for the Arlington Employment Center in Arlington Virginia, joins host Derrick Dortch, to discuss a special initiative designed to help veterans find employment in the very competitive Washington D.C. job market.

Smith will discuss programs and services the employment center is offering to veterans who want to transition to the civilian workforce, including career counseling, and computer based training for those who want to upgrade their IT skills.

In addition, the employment center offers workshops to help veterans update their resumes, improve their interviewing skills, and build networks of contacts by using social media.
