Dorothy Robyn will be stepping down in March as commissioner of the General Services Administration’s Public Buildings Service, according to a GSA statement.

In making the announcement, GSA praised Robyn’s efforts in making PBS’ properties more energy efficient.

“I cannot thank Dorothy enough for her contributions to GSA,” GSA Administrator Dan Tangherlini said in a statement. “Since Dorothy joined us, she has worked tirelessly to manage the more than 9,000 assets we hold in trust on behalf of the American people. Her commitment has not only helped us maintain those facilities but also enabled GSA to increase our capital investments, improve our business practices, and enhance the energy efficiency of our entire portfolio.”

Frank Benenati, press secretary at the Office of Management and Budget, confirmed that OMB’s acting controller, Norman Dong, will be stepping down to succeed Robyn at PBS.

“In his new position, Dong will have a leading role in the continued implementation of the Administration’s initiatives to find savings and improve efficiency in the government’s real estate portfolio, such as the Freeze the Footprint initiative,” Benenati said, in an email. “He will remain at OMB until a replacement is in place.”

Robyn was chosen to lead PBS in September 2012, in the wake of a shakeup at GSA following the Western Regions conference scandal earlier in the year.

Prior to coming to GSA, Robyn was the deputy undersecretary for Installations and the Environment, where she was responsible for managing DoD’s 539,000 military installations, spanning more than 29 million acres across the world.
