The Defense Department's civilian workforce is in Congressional crossfire.

A new House bill would cut the defense civilian workforce by 15 percent before 2020’s end. That’s about 120 thousand people. The Republican sponsors are not the only ones to suggest the Defense Department is too big. But with jobs in nearly every district at stake, it’s a thorny issue to broach.
