GPO offers mobile app of President’s budget request

The President\'s fiscal 2013 budget request is available today in print, online and — for the first time — a mobile app.

The President’s fiscal 2013 budget request is available today in print, online and — for the first time — a mobile app.

The Government Printing Office is offering the app for free on major mobile device platforms, including iOS 4.3 and above, Android 2.2 and above and Blackberry OS version 6.0 and above.

Scan the QR code with your smartphone to access the app. You will need to download a QR code reader app first.
“Through GPO’s role as the digital information platform for the federal government, we continue to explore different ways to make government information available to the public and developing apps is just one way we are meeting that goal,” said Acting Public Printer Davita Vance-Cooks in a statement.

The authentic online version of the budget request also is available through GPO’s Federal Digital System.

The budget app is the second mobile app GPO developed. The first, released in November 2011, was a picture directory of the members of Congress.

Print copies of the budget are available at the GPO or can be purchased online today at a cost:

  • Budget of the U.S. Government $39
  • Budget Appendix $76
  • Analytical Perspectives $53
  • Historical Tables $50
  • CD-ROM $27
