Health IT jobs picking up steam

The health IT industry is booming and that means so are jobs in that arena. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, the number of medical records technicians is expected to grow by 22 percent between 2012 and 2022.

But hospitals and physicians' offices are looking for more than just technicians, according to a report by Information Week.

Before a doctor can even use an electronic health record, he or she must be trained on the software or system in use - putting those who can provide the training in high demand. Also in demand? Security professionals hired to keep electronic health records safe, as well as companies hired to design, install and implement the e-records systems.
