A set of potential new rules for electronic health records calls for setting up another list of new rules. The Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT is proposing a series of EHR guidelines it would like to see enacted in 20-15. The agency says the concept behind the ideas are the three Ps: predictability, participation and preparedness. They’re meant to make EHR certification more fluid and secure by constantly updating the rules already in place. Right now ONC calls for more collaboration with the Food and Drug Administration and discontinuing complete EHR certification. The potential new rules are all voluntary for EHR vendors and providers. Healthcare IT News reports the public is also welcome to comment on the rules.
