DHS getting a lift with the TIC initiative

The Homeland Security Department is earning some extra credit with its Trusted Internet Connections Initiative, thanks to a little help from the General Services Administration. The goal of the TIC initiative is to consolidate or simply eliminate network connections from outside the agency, which in turn will boost Internet security at DHS. GSA’s FedRAMP program office is working hand-in-hand with DHS to do just that. By doing so, the FedRAMP office is helping DHS also meet the Obama Administration’s Cloud First policy The goal is to create a strong cybersecurity foundation so DHS can deploy future cloud technologies that seamlessly blend with FedRAMP’s compliance regulations. The General Services Administration says the collaboration with its FedRAMP program office will extend to all DHS component agencies to help with future cloud deployments.
