Agencies with a track record in financial transparency were recognized at an award reception Wednesday, hosted by an organization for financial professionals.

AGA honored 19 federal agencies for meeting high standards in their annual Performance and Accountability Reports, as well as their Agency Financial Reports. The Certificate of Excellence in Accountability Reporting (CEAR) award recognizes agencies for giving clear insight into the agency’s spending and program performance.

“We hear so often in the news about government waste that it is a pleasure to honor these financial management professionals,” said Ann Ebberts, the CEO at AGA. “The agencies and departments being honored today truly represent a select group within the government financial management community.”

The Social Security Administration holds the most CEAR awards of any agency, having received its 17th award this year.
