2014 Sea-Air-Space Expo

The Navy's experimental Stiletto ship sits docked at National Harbor in Maryland on Tuesday, April 8, 2014.

The Gaylord National Resort and Conference Center is serving as host to the 2014 Sea-Air-Space Exposition, which brings together key military decision makers with the U.S. defense industrial base.

Federal News Radio attended the event and interviewed key military personnel in attendance including Admiral Jonathan Greenert, chief of Naval Operations; Vice Admiral Philip Hart Cullom, Deputy Chief of Naval Operations for Fleet Readiness and Logistics; Lt. General Kenneth Glueck, deputy commandant of Marine Corps Combat Development and Integration; and Danny King, commander of the Supply Corps for the Navy and director of the Navy Food Service.

The Marine Corps took Federal News Radio and other members of the media on a ride-along on one of its V-22 Ospreys.

The vertical takeoff vehicle is part of Marine Helicopter Squadron One (HMX-1).

The HMX-1 squadron provides direct support to the White House military office, performing tasks such as transporting the President and other VIPs. It also supports the commanding general of the Marine Corps Combat Development and Education Command.
