The White House endorses 10 of the 15 recommendations the Military Compensation and Retirement Modernization Commission made in its report in January. The House Armed Services Committee included several of those recommendations in their markup of the National Defense Authorization Act. Dov Zakheim was a member of the Comp commission, former Under Secretary of Defense (Comptroller), and now a senior adviser at the Center for Strategic and International Studies. On In Depth with Francis Rose, he explained if it’s important that both the White House and the committee are breaking those recommendations up.
