  • In all this talk of reducing your carbon footprint we typically look at our giant gas guzzling vehicles. Thoughts turn to a more environmentally friendly hybrid vehicle, one that produces far less or in some cases no carbon dioxide. We never seem to look up and consider what airlines are doing to the environment. Bloomberg View columnist Megan McArdle addresses the topic in her piece Air Travel is Worse Than a Hummer With Wings.
  • Contractors stung by sequestration would see some relief under the Senate immigration bill, which would boost border security spending by 82 percent, according to a Bloomberg Government estimate. BGOV Senior Transportation Analyst Matthew Hummer will explain the so called “border surge” amendment on this week”s Capital Impact.

Allen Scott (moderator) specializes in customer on boarding and training at Bloomberg Government. Allen previously worked at Arbitron, Inc. where he served in a variety of roles from customer service to sales operations manager. At MCC, Hummer conducted cost-benefit analysis for transportation and energy projects. He holds finance and economics degrees from Fordham University and a master’s of public policy from Georgetown University.
